Position

The enchanting position allows you to quickly reach Mount Etna, with the cable car and the ski lifts (16 Km.), the beaches (10 Km.), Taormina (25 Km.), Catania (24 Km.), the Acireale Spa (10 Km), Syracuse, etc. Several cultural and interesting tourist activities take place in Zafferana, such as the Brancati prize, dedicated to the famous writer who loved to stay here, as well as Verga, Capuana and De Roberto.

A nod is a must for the "Ottobrata", an exhibition of typical products, gastronomy, and quality craftsmanship in which shows, excursions, photographic exhibitions and live demonstrations of some production processes are set up.

Zafferana coexists with the highest active volcano in Europe, Etna. The lava that has settled on the town several times has become, in the hands of the stonemasons, a material to be moulded and modelled, a decorative element, a frieze and a refined ornament.
